Portfolio Description
VetConnect is a full-stack web platform developed as a senior project to digitize veterinary services and improve client accessibility. The website enables pet owners to book in-person veterinary appointments online, receive automated email updates on appointment status, and interact with an AI-powered virtual assistant designed to provide preliminary guidance based on pet symptoms. In addition, the platform includes an integrated online shop for pet-related products, creating a complete digital ecosystem for veterinary care.
The project was designed to deliver a seamless and intuitive user experience while ensuring efficient backend performance and secure data handling. By combining modern web technologies with artificial intelligence, VetConnect bridges the gap between traditional veterinary clinics and digital healthcare solutions, offering convenience, engagement, and improved service management.
The project involved full front-end and back-end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, and Node.js, with cloud infrastructure supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS). The main database was implemented using MongoDB Atlas for secure and scalable data storage, while Redis was integrated for performance optimization and real-time data handling.
An online appointment booking system was developed with automated email notifications for approved, pending, or rejected requests. An AI-powered virtual assistant was created to interact with users, analyze common pet symptoms, and provide basic guidance. Additionally, a complete e-commerce section was built to manage and display pet products, along with responsive layouts to ensure smooth user experience across all devices.
This project was developed independently as a senior academic project.
